Heyyy wow. Its been awhile since I posted a journal.

I'll probably start trying to be more active here on DA since I'm trying to be more active in the art world.

I sold this past weekend at Anime Midwest in Rosemont, IL! My second table and with my bff Neko-Fantasy

We made a good haul and landed 4 commissions, all of which will be posted to our join Tumblr and FA as well as each of our individual DAs.

I really can't wait to do some of these commissions!

So I had an awesome weekend of not convention going and celebrating friends birthdays and whatever. No. I go to go work and put up with everyones retarded shit and be flat out miserable. Yup. Good times.

I need a vacation.

Anyway, Christmas and my birthday are approaching! I'm excited for Christmas....less excited for my birthday but at least I'l get to half-celebrate it at Ohayocon. I'll be buying everyone Christmas gifts this year, I don't really expect anything in return. I just really like Christmas shopping! If anyone wants to buy me anything heres a short-ish list.

-Tiger and Bunny things (especially these guys: www.ebay.com/itm/BANDAI-JAPAN-…).
-Hetalia things (especially anything Poland or Lithuania! All I have is a poster of them and a Lithuania phonecharm/key chain).
-LietPol (Lithuania/Poland) doujinshi. I've never been into doujinshi before these guys and I wanna collect as many as I can! I only have 4 right now D:
-FMA Brotherhood DVDs
-FMA manga 22+
-Star Trek Ongoing comics 10+ (these are the ones that take place in the reboot universe using stories from the original series and a few new ones)
-Kia already knows this but I really want one of the tie-dye t-shirts worn by the 1992 Lithuanian Olympic basketball team. They can be found here: www.skullman.com/ Medium or large is fine and I'd like the 20th anniversary edition or the original one.

ADDING CAUSE NEW FANDOM
-Like ANYTHING Rise of the Guardians (cept the book series I just bought XD). I asked my mom and dad for the Jack Frost ornament for Christmas so dont worry about that and I've got a poster from work. But other than that....I dont have anything and theres not much to have. But if you find something cute and awesome with Jack Frost's face on it I'll love it. Also the artbook. I WANT THE ART BOOK.

Hm. Yeah. Thats about it. You guys know what I like and such.

I'm gonna go curl up in bed and cry about life now

I am a borderline obsessive follower of George DeValier and his beta Kay. I respect them both a lot, they've helped contribute some amazing things to the Hetalia fandom and a lot of other fans will agree. Unfortunately some of those fans seem to be acting like children in response to 'slow' update times.

Kay has written a nice long post in response to some of the immature things the fans have been saying to ALL of her authors.

Now. I KNOW its tough to wait for updates for whatever your favorite fic happens to be. But seriously. Back off! George and every other fanfic author in existence do not get paid to do what they do. I've seen many authors just drop off the face of the internet before even finishing a story. It really makes me sad to know people are acting like this.

What George does already is incredible. He is managing a handful of stories all at once and has not given up and I trust him when he says he wont give up (no matter how long it takes). I look forward to each and every update he puts out there, no matter what it is. There are some fics I like more than others, yes, but no matter what I enjoy what he writes. He can write about paint drying and I'd read and enjoy it.

I want to put a positive message out there. I dont know if him or Kay will see this. But I want to thank them both. Thank them for all the hard work they put forth. Please do not let the sour fans get you down. You guys are amazing. My friends and I all look forward to reading your works and enjoy flipping out over every update.

This applies to all authors. Keep doing what you do as long as you enjoy it, no matter what people say.

So fandom. Maybe take a moment. Thank your favorite author or artist and let them know how much you appreciate what they do.

The London games are coming to a close. The closing ceremonies will aired for US viewers starting at 6:00 tonight.

What can I say? I'm really sad! I really do have a lot of passion for sports. There isn't much else that can give me so a range of emotion. I cry and scream when a team or athlete I like wins and I do the same when they lose. This doesn't just apply to the Olympics - this is year round. I love watching basketball and baseball and hockey and American football as much as I can. Theres something special about the Olympics. Athletes from all over the world compete together in the same stadium. If theres one thing the world can pretty much agree on, I think its sports.

I watched A LOT these past 2 weeks and saw a lot of really incredible moments.

The opening ceremonies, while not better than Beijing, were still quite the spectacle. They were funny, breath-taking, emotional, and so completely British. I loved it.

Michael Phelps swam in his last Olympics. He was off to a bit of a slow start but really picked it up by the end to become the most decorated Olympian of all time. 18 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze. I watched him win every single one of those over the course of 4 Olympic games (though he didn't win anything in Sydney) and I am really sad to see him go. He was a thrill to watch. Part of me really hopes to see him swim once more in Rio 2016.

The women of these games were incredible. The Fab 5 took home gold in gymnastics! Gabby Douglas became the first African American gymnast to win a gold medal. Aly Raisman won a gold for floor exercise. Missy Franklin won 4 golds in the pool. Ruta Meilutyte won the first swimming gold for an independent Lithuania....and shes only 15! Ye Shiwen smashed world records and won a gold medal for China in the individual swimming medley. Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh-Jennings won their 3rd straight gold medal for beach vollyball. Our soccer girls defeated Japan for the gold medal (after an intense semi-final game with Canada!), Candace Parker (a Naperville native!) helped team USA win their 5th straight gold medal in womens basketball.....these games belong to the girls!

Usain Bolt, while cocky as all hell, still showed the world he was the best. He brought home 3 golds for Jamaica in all his track events.

Basketball really dragged me in this year. I was pretty disappointed team Lithuania got knocked out in the quarter finals but they really put on a show. They held their own against Team USA in the prelims (losing by only 5!) and to me that is literally huge. To come close to a power house team like the United States is extraordinary. I would have liked to see them defeat Russia in the quarters and advance to the medal round. Russia eventually placed third, Spain second, and of course Lebron, Kobe, and the gang took home gold.

2016 has big shoes to fill. That year will be heart breaking for me. That was the year Chicago almost had the Olympics. What could have been. A lot of people would have hated to have the games here. That would have been the world to me. I'd volunteer and work and see events. It would have been worth it. Events would have been held all over the area...maybe even a few at North Central College in Naperville. It would have been a huge honor to have these games. I am still heartbroken that I may never live to see this happen. Who knows though...maybe 2024 or 2028. I say bring it.

Thank you London and all the athletes that have competed this year. It was an amazing 2 weeks and I look forward to Sochi 2014. Just a year and a half off!
